Wagging Green Eco Friendly Pet Products

In 2008 our founder, Sonya Sargent, stumbled upon an idea and a vision. Her background in fashion design and merchandising gave her an eye for color. One day she brought home a beautiful little puppy. Wagging Green was born. Dragging out her dusty sewing machine, Sonya became inspired to draw on her expertise and create stylish fashion – for pets. Sonya also recognized there was an opportunity – an opportunity for pets to make an environmental difference. Selecting 100% organic bamboo webbing for Wagging Green products over the commonly used nylon webbing was innovative and forward thinking.

Research demonstrates bamboo fabrics are good for the earth – and they’re great for our pets. Bamboo is woven into a soft and strong webbing that serve as a foundation for our organic bamboo dog collars, cat collars, dog harnesses, and leashes. Bamboo is also hypoallergenic, so pets with sensitive skin should have no issues wearing Wagging Green collars and harnesses. Bamboo is breathable and washable; it doesn’t attract foul orders and can be machine washed easily several times. Not stopping by just producing natural solid color, comfortable bamboo collars and leashes, Sonya grew inspired to design distinctive pet wear that not only reduced our pet’s eco footprint, but would give back in meaningful ways. Sonya’s Save the Earth collection is a tribute to important environmental issues that concern us all. It was only natural then, that the company decided to donate 5% of its profits to causes that improve the lives of pets and pet owners.

Wagging Green is no longer alone in this effort. We’d like to think we inspired other producers who are now similarly committed to supporting eco improvements and we commend them for doing so. Wagging Green is again striving to lead however, as evidenced by our innovative new EcoHip collection – a fun, natural line of stylish pet wear and accessories that sport a unique hippy fringe. They say all fashion comes around and we think that’s true – we believe our bamboo EcoHip collection gives pet owners a new way to express their retro selves!

Eco friendly Wagging Green pet wear is more than function alone – it’s about commitment to products that are healthy for our pets and healthy for our earth. It’s about making bold statements that make an eco difference. It’s about sourcing and using materials that reduce our eco footprint, and it’s about putting natural materials that are healthy for our pets next to their skin. Today, Wagging Green is back and under new ownership. Sonya’s dream was unexpectedly disrupted and Wagging Green went dormant for a while. But it’s true – a great idea and a commendable vision will always prevail. So a new chapter in Wagging Green’s history has now begun. And with that renewal comes an even stronger commitment to remain true to Sonya’s vision, passion, and enthusiasm for our pets. Curiuos about us?
